Baltimore, MD- Riptide by the Bay

-Riptide by the Bay: Friendly service, cozy sea faring atmosphere and some of the best crabs I have ever had! -
Strolling along the Fells Point, MD waterfront I felt beckoned in as I noticed how content people were eating outside with their pooches and I was also in the mood for some Maryland crabs! My friend and I were curious to see what was going on down the side corridor of this cozy restaurant. So we went into explore the restaurant and the sea faring mural that was being completed on that day by the artist on the wall.

Of the three basic seating options (indoors, outdoor cafe, or corridor outdoor) we were happy with sitting in the corridor, what can I say the mural just drew me in, made me feel like I was on holiday again in the Jimmy Buffet atmosphere of Key West!

For a bubbly delight I started off with a delicious champagne cocktail called "Jacuzzi". We were even more impressed by tantalizing selection of bloody Marys ("Classic Mary", "Crabby Mary", "South of the Border Mary"). I wanted something to match the RBB old bay crabs (that I am now dreaming of while I write this post) so I chose the "Crabby Mary" as it was accented with had Old Bay and Pepper Vodka. I know you don't know me very well yet and this is one of my first restaurant posts (there are plenty more to come) but I always love to try new places and new things and I mean it when I say Riptide by the Bay serves the best crabs and Bloody Marys I have ever had! Scottie beam me back now!

     Wow, who is, what is planet Earth? On my quest to just "scrape" the surface I found it so hard
to even know where to begin! Well first thing's first it is the planet that we all are a part of when
we came into this Earth. We may only know a small amount about the galaxy's around us let alone

      It's hard to imagine being in a place with out her as her green sparkle encompasses every
aspect of our lives. Like I said I am not sure where to start or where exactly this will end but I am
for certain inspired to Begin the journey of understanding how we can all make a difference! I truly believe this will be an amazing journey as she has infinitely so spectacular topics to bring into the
spotlight and discuss.

   I was not aware of Earth Day until at least a 1-2 decades ago! But when did it start? What are some of the buzz terms? Why should I care? 5 Earthly ideas! Join the forum make your Earthly voice or cause heard!

But when did it start?: According to most sources: Earth Day was started in 1970 by a Senator from Wisconsin Gaylord Nelson as a result of a build up over 7 years of increased concern and awareness about mother Earth. In the USA it is celebrated on April 22nd. (1)

1)   Plastic bags and Shopping Bags: Many supermarkets and also stores such as Ikea offer
an area to recycle plastic shopping bags.

2)   Batteries: Ikea also offers bins where you can recycle batteries.

3) Biodegradable/ Degradable: Use Biodegradable or degradable products! Biodegradable

Who would have thought that in cockles of the subconscious mind that symbolism of a charm reminiscent of this one exchanged between my best friend and I would come to mean so much. It was the booming ‘80’s full of glitz and excess!

We were just kids then we had no idea what the world around us was about and were just starting to explore the vast subject matters held like treasures boxes just waiting to be revealed. We were the new comers and the next generation. Cyndi Lauper’s “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” was our new anthem. Among other things we had a taste of Tab Cola, Rubix’s Cube, Atari and we were still playing records. So much can happen in 30 years! Each day each of us make another decision, are bombarded with information and swirl in thoughts, ideas and dreams.

One might think that eventually each new jewel of information, memory, experience, lessons like that once highly polished new charm might over the plethora years fade, tarnish, go out of style and be forgotten only to be hidden away in your life’s own miniature treasure box.

Then one day your doing the most mundane of things like brushing your teeth over the bathroom sink and suddenly the subconscious acts as a catalyst to uncovering the treasure box who’s gems some how you thought you had forgotten about. Each gem of different sentimental value ready to shimmer again. As you and they reflect there is suddenly a new hue and dimension that makes you become conscious of their coalescence into newer richer collective value.

On one such unexpected days the butter fly effect swiftly started its course as I became enamored with a long forgotten heart shaped childhood memory and fond happy memories! It made me realize how many treasures each of us have gathered on our journeys through life that we can share with friends and others and how many more beautiful treasures there are to uncover on Earth. Thus this site is about “Living Earth to the fullest” and sharing, life, happiness, laughter (sometimes the tears) and the glitter with all your BFFs, whether it be your family, friends or your pets.

Thus on this blog you will experience the gamut from cool animal pics, funny animal videos, Veterinary tips to food picks, beer, wine, travel chronicles, creative writing and much, much more! Not mention tips on style, recipes and favorite picks from Philadelphia to the Ends of Earth! BFF Earth!
